Helichrysum pure essential oil (Helichrysum splendidum) is traditionally used for respiratory complaints. It is a natural anti-inflammatory and has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It can be blended with a carrier oil to make a massage oil. It may soothe skin conditions and skin infections. Use it for muscle aches and pains, respiratory problems and your digestive system. It is often used to alleviate sciatica, bruises, tendonitis and tissue pain and repair. Helichrysum pure essential oil is also known as Immortelle and St John’s herb.

Directions

Dilute 5 drops of essential oil per 10 ml carrier oil. Use as a massage oil or bath oil. Add 5 -10 drops of essential oil to your bath water or to a tub of hot water for steam inhalation.

A note of caution

Do not take it internally. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Keep out of reach of children and away from the eyes. Do not use it during pregnancy or if you are breastfeeding.  Always dilute before use (see Directions).

Some individuals may experience irritation and/or allergic reactions when applying diluted essential oils to the skin. Perform a skin test before using any diluted essential oils on your skin.
