Also known as Sutherlandia, it is used by indigenous people in South Africa to treat cancer, tuberculosis, flu, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome and AIDS, an effective immune booster. Externally it can be used for the washing of wounds and washing the eyes to treat eye infections. It is also used in the treatment of mental and emotional stress, including irritability, anxiety and depression. Zulu warriors also use it to help clear trauma out of their system.
