Fruit such as cranberries is rich in simple sugar, D Mannose. This sugar has the ability to bind to infection-causing bacteria. By binding to these micro-organisms D Mannose prevents the bacteria from attaching themselves to the lining of the bladder and the walls of the urinary tract. They are simply flushed out of the system without causing infections. D Mannose is particularly effective against E Coli bacteria.
